Portable Audio Mixers for ENG & Film
Standard SQN extension cables are terminated with a 'male' plug at the mixer interface, to connect with the mixer's Main I/O, and a 'female' connector at the opposite end -either to mate with a camera/recorder interface (aka "tails") or gang with another extension cable.
The connectors on a standard extension section are of the same type, the type being determined by the chassis connector of the mixer -either the Hirose 10-way screw-lock connector or Tajimi 12-way push/pull locking connector.
Certain circumstances may warrant a non-standard of hybrid extension cable, such cables being terminated with connectors that are of dissimilar type.
SQN-SET/S and SQN-SES/T
The SQN-SET/S hybrid straight cable extension section pictured below terminates at the mixer interface with a Tajimi 12-pin (male) push/pull locking connector to interface with a mixer fitted with a Tajimi 12-way (female) chassis socket, and terminates at its opposite end with a Hirose 10-way (female) connector so as to interface either with Hirose 10-pin (male) camera/recorder "tails" sections or with another extension section fitted with the Hirose 10-pin (male) connector.

SQN-SES/T is a hybrid straight cable extension section and terminates at the mixer interface with a Hirose 10-pin (male) screw-lock connector to interface with a mixer fitted with a Hirose 10-way (female) chassis socket, and terminates at its opposite end with a Tajimi 12-way (female) connector so as to interface either with Tajimi 12-pin (male) camera/recorder "tails" sections or with extension sections fitted with the Tajimi 12-pin (male) connector.
ABOUT
SQN-SET/S and SQN-SES/T hybrid 'straight cable extension sections are available to order in a variety of lengths: 3m, 4m, 5m etc. and are designated with the suffix _3, _4, _5 etc. The cables illustrated are 4m in length and thus yellow-tag coded at the 'male' connector and have the order codes SQN-SET/S_4 and SQN-SES/T_4, respectively.
